Book Review: Feral

Feral: Rewilding the Land, the Sea and Human LifeFeral: Rewilding the Land, the Sea and Human Life by George Monbiot

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of the most eye opening books I’ve read this year, on any topic. The idea of Re-Wilding isn’t new but the word have come to mean so many different things to so many different people that it is a concept that divides opinion even before a conversation has happened. This book shares what George Monbiot means by the term and explains, eloquently and in exacting detail, just why he thinks like this.

I do not expect everyone to agree with him, and he admits himself that there are many elements of what he is proposing that need far more discussion and investigation before they could be put into place (if it was still felt acceptable to do so) but there is a lot of sensible, measured thought in these pages that is highly persuasive to me, at least.

I will not say any more about what is proposed but I urge you to read this book – in a measured manner and with an open mind – and make your own judgments on the vast amount of information shared within.
